Anna digging enthusiastically into a cupful of WORMS for the birds while i kept a safe distance away. Why couldn't they have let us feed them safe non-wriggly fruits instead.
Anna decided to be spunky and walk on all the narrow bridges by herself!

Totally worth my (ok, nathan's) $9.50 :) If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I want is you, will you be my bride

This beautiful bag was what christine crocheted for anna. What was so side splittingly funny about it was anna's immediate response of 'so simple! must put one button here (stabs at random area on bag)..must put flower here (jabs at another random area on bag)..yarrhhh..so simple'. What a precocious little niece i have man. What an imp. :) A smart 5th valentine's was what we had this year. Romantic carl's junior with tealights and dimmed lights, coupled with the very aphrodisiac-ed breaded zucchini and orgasmic chilli cheese fries, and topped with macnifique macflurry from the very classy macs. Thrown in with a romantic (and very, very economic) walk along the esplanade with our very own portable photo machine (ie. digital camera), and where the only commercial indulgence of valentine's came in the form of purchasing polariods from a couple of very business-savvy boys out to make a quick buck from vain and happy pairs, all these left nathan a very happy (and much relieved) boy. See? Hehe.
Lastly, not forgetting the humble but very potent sounding angklung yayyy
May we get our full 20% marks for us 9 girls not making any mistake shaking our angklungs!

Anna looks wistfully at the packet of biscuits she's holding, then at us.Nathan: If you want to eat the biscuits, you must ask mummy for permission!
Another one of the LOL moments anna gives us :) She willingly told nathan she loved him cos he gave her rambutans. She willingly told me she loved me cos when she loves uncle nathan, she must love auntie eunice as well. She willingly hugged and kissed her mummy daddy grandpa and grandma (well, armpit-kissed for the grandpa) cos nathan promised her rambutans if she did so. The power of rambutans.

My dad spent a little less than a year compiling all 29 years of service in the army into a 45min compact dvd slideshow. It goes all the way back to the time he enlisted as an 18 year old (where he looks eerily like my cousin ignatius - or should i say my cousin ignatius looks eerily like him heh) in 1969 right up to 1998 when he retired. It felt good to read his personal stories in the slideshow - he typed out chunks of words where you'd have to pause to read them - and to reread encounters or close brushes with the explosives he dealt with. Every single person has a story to tell, especially in his/her twilight years (but no my dad is far far away from that still!), and it feels comforting in a sense that even when my dad is gone one day, i'd still have this to remember him by. Which is exactly the intention he had in making this - to let me, his grandchildren, his greatgrandchildren remember and know the man in the photographs.Jon gan showed me the scrapbook his mother made for him in secret for his 21st birthday last year. She cut out his baby photos, wrote sweet little comments/stories, pasted letters, cards, cute little stickers in the book and crammed it full of love and memories. It feels good to read stories or events that's happened to you in your parent's voice. I guess now i feel the importance of scrapbooking, whether in paper or media form. :) Just a little sidetracking, i finally found a picture of my ideal wedding hand bouquet! Remembered reading Anne of Green Gables when i was a kid, and when she finally got married to gilbert blythe, the author described her as carrying an armful of lilies of the valley. I have no idea why, but the image i got in my head at that time was of this:
The only teeny problem is that the website i got it from says they only deliver to US canada puerto rico and hawaii. Many more years to research i guess, and hopefully they offer delivery services to singapore by then heh. My favourite photo so far this cny:

Sigh this is so pissifying. I signed on for this thai music module so that i could learn how to play a new thai instrument. I raised my hand for this glam ramad ek (a xylophone thing) expecting the lecturer to select people who raised hands. And talk about trying to be polite and civilised - this guy just walked right past me over to the instrument without waiting for anything. Whatever happened to ladies first! So i got stuck playing the humble angklung...which wouldnt be so bad if georgie and i did not already play it in children's choir 11 years back. And to make matters worse, in this other bahasa indo module its compulsory to sign on for a mini project to expose us to various aspects of indonesian culture..which wouldnt be so bad if i could have had a wider choice of what i wanted but couldnt cos of lecture and tutorial clashes. So that left me with the choice of dancing, story-telling (using bahasa indo) or cooking. I can't act for nuts, my last time dancing in public in sec 2 on school stage left me traumatised - you get the picture. Of course i was dead set on doing indonesian cooking instead! But of course, no surprise, all 36 slots for cooking got filled within 1 minute of ivle opening. And to this hour I have no idea how i came to miss the exact second ivle opened for signing up cos I was hanging around waiting to click on the 'yes' option 5 minutes before. And SO. Now i'm stuck with this maluku dance instead. According to the description, it calls for lots of jumps and coordination between your 7 co-dancers. You'll find a very malu dancer on performance night.
